Takaka Hill is like a giant block of limestone swiss cheese with hundreds of caves and sinkholes. Its these limestone formations that make for some seriously stunning locations.
If your wanting to have a look inside one of the more stunning caves I can highly recommend Ngarua Caves on the top of the hill (hard to miss). Also the walk to Howards Hole is well worth the walk although get there early if you want to avoid the crowds.
